Chocolate was Created for Mondays

Whether you believe in God or not, I personally believe chocolate was divinely inspired specifically for Mondays. This morning was tough. I woke up with a major headache (so much so that I had to take migraine meds, which I rarely need to touch anymore) from sleeping in some weird position all night. It wasn’t super sunshiny outside, so I really didn’t want to drag myself out of bed. And all I could think about was my massive to-do list.

Maybe it was due to my Friday being pretty crazy running around preparing for my birthday party, which went twice as long as expected (karate people love it so much, they don’t want to leave!). Maybe it was standing up for almost 7 hours straight at a local charity event on Saturday. Maybe it was staying up late playing with all the toys my friends got me for my birthday. Yes, I said toys. As in, LEGO sets, coloring books, puzzles, etc. (What can I say? My friends know me well!)

Whatever the reason, this morning I was completely UN-motivated to get into the office, so I posted this on Facebook:

And the first comment made was from my dear friend and assistant, Natalie Collins, about what else? CHOCOLATE. So after I crossed a couple easy tasks off my to-do list, I whipped up a batch of my favorite go-to quick recipe, 5-Minute Fudge, featured in Easy & Raw: 30 Deliciously Sinful Allergen-Free Chocolate Recipes to Cure any Craving (pictured above). Just a few spoonfuls was all it took to knock out a large chunk of my massive to-do list. And now I’m almost motivated to take on the rest of this very long day. Almost. I think it will take a few more spoonfuls.

I’m going to go test that theory…

You got that right! chocolate motivates me everyday! Most helpful food on the planet — if you eat one ounce of pure, dark chocolate. Good for your blood pressure, your heart, your hair, skin, teeth, libido, mood. Need I say more?

that might be the combo of sugar and caffeine ( yes, chocolate does have caffeine in it;)….

but yeah– there are times when desperate measures are called for… if they are tasty.. all the better:) it’s been grey and sluggish in new england… and the mojo is behind the cloud cover:(

Love your motivation tactics…makes me almost wish I liked sweets! I guess I’ll have to find another way to get rid of my migraines and to boost my motivation…but for now it’s doing fine! I just think of how the end result makes me feel, and for now, that’s enough to get me off my duff and get me moving. Here’s hoping you get feeling on top of the world again, that you polish off your to-do list with as much glee as you do your chocolate, and that you finish out your day with a huge feeling of accomplishment.
